Raks™ Mineral is a supplement that is intended to be available to deer all year. It is important to offer ample nutrition to deer throughout the different stages of their lives. Superior nutrition for doe while they are carrying their offspring will give their fawn a head start as they begin to grow. These mothers will produce more milk for their young and also enable them to build a quicker and stronger immunity by passing on good antibodies to fight off disease. When doe are healthy and properly supplemented the breed back rate also improves.

Feeding Deer Bucks use the majority of Raks™ Mineral towards antler growth and strength. In early fall when antlers are hardened bucks utilize the extra mineral and vitamins for the Rut. Rut season takes an overwhelming amount of energy and body condition away from mature bucks. The more exposure they have to Raks Mineral™ the sooner they build their body condition back up to the point of a maintenance level.

The key time and the heaviest usage of Raks™ Mineral will be typically in the spring months and into the early summer months. You will notice the biggest intake of Raks™ Mineral in the months where we experience the longest periods of daylight. Deer will only consume the vitamins and the minerals they are lacking and needing in their diets.

Antler growth is triggered in the spring by changes in the photo period. When this takes place, there is a hormone release that allows deer to quickly process nutrients and minerals that enable the growth of antlers.

This process continues throughout late summer until testosterone triggers antler hardening and the shedding of velvet. This process takes at least six months to complete.

Studies have proven that calcium and phosphorus are the two most common minerals in deer antlers, including whitetail deer.

These two minerals represent up to 35 percent of a fully developed antler. Other Mineral found in antlers: magnesium, sodium, potassium, barium, iron, aluminum, zinc, strontium and manganese.
